In order to provide fun, fair and equitable play for all at TMPC member events, TMPC is asking for members to voluntarily provide USAPA ratings (if available) or “Self” ratings. These ratings may be used to coordinate play at member events and may be provided to local area events to ensure fun, fair and equitable play for all.

To submit your USAPA ratings or provide your own “Self” rating, please submit by clicking your name in upper left menu, select Profile, then select Additional Member Data, check the box next to your rating, and click the Save button.

RATINGS

Player ratings are used to group players by ability levels so that players can compete in tournaments or leagues with other players of similar ability. Keep in mind that this will never be a perfect system, but it should improve a player’s chances of having a more competitive and fun match.

  • When you don’t have to think about which shot to hit, but you can’t successfully his it 2000 times in a row, you are a 4.5.
  • When you have to think about what shot to hit, and when you figure it out, you can successfully hit it, you are a 4.0.
  • When you have to think about which shot to hit, but then you hit the wrong shot, you are a 3.5.
  • When you have to think about which shot to hit, but by the time you decide on the correct shot to hit it’s too late to hit it, so you just go with trying to get it back over the net, you are a 3.0.
  • When you don’t bother to think about what shot to hit, and most of the time you don’t hit it in the court anyway, you are a 2.5 and guaranteed to be having a lot of fun.
